| 2. | | Wired: Hide Your IPod, Here Comes Bill - Captured: 2-2-2005 10:00:00 Well, here's an article that doesn't trim at all with what I've seen at Microsoft. My first thought is, the only people who might give somebody a hard time about a music player are people like me, and it's all in fun. Second, I've seen a couple of music players on people as they walk around campus and most of the time that player isn't an iPod as far as I can tell.
"About 80 percent of Microsoft employees who have a portable music player have an iPod," said one source, a high-level manager who ... From: BufferOverrun |

Girl’s night out last night. I

there is no rugby, we drink. Guiness. No
cute guys were around for the single chicks in the group to flirt with. For
some reason, someone threw a quarter at us as we were getting up to leave the table. Freaks.&... From: Anomalous Data |

| 9. | | A Weekend At Sigiriya - Captured: 8-2-2005 12:58:00 Continuing on from my previous post, Looking Forward To A Long Weekend At Sigiriya...
A fairly eventful weekend. We drove from Wathupiiwala up to Kurunegala on Thursday evening. The journey takes me just less than 2 hours by car. We stayed overnight at Kurunegala with our friends Dylan & Sheila and their guest Tait before driving up to Sigiriya on Friday morning, stopping off at a craft village a few Km before Sigiriya. The journey took about 2.5 hours. We were booked into the Sigiriy... From: VB & .NET Blogs @ vbCity.com |

| 10. | | Looking Forward To A Long Weekend At Sigiriya - Captured: 3-2-2005 12:32:00 Friday 4th February 2005 is National Day here in Sri Lanka where the country celebrates its independance, in 1948, form the UK. As our factory, along with most of Sri Lanka businssses I believe, closes down I have decided (well my wife has actually - but I heartily concur) that we will take a long weekend and head off into the interior of Sri Lanka. I have managed to obtain one of the company pool cars for the duration and so the world is our lobster pot :)
Tonight we will travel from Wathupiti... From: VB & .NET Blogs @ vbCity.com |

| 11. | | 10 Pin Bowling In Colombo & 10 Pin Bowling Etiquette? - Captured: 30-1-2005 10:25:00 A mixed bag at the 10 pin bowling alley today.
First score of 77 was a complete embarrassment. Nearly every ball pulled to the left. Even when I realised this and compensated it made no difference. I think the problem might have been the people in the left hand lane but more of that at the end of the post. Anyway suffice to say by the end of this game I was down to 15Kmph in a vain attempt to control vaguely where the ball was going :(
Next game was possibly the best game I have played in my ... From: VB & .NET Blogs @ vbCity.com |

I've spent all day on the computer :) Performed some mundane tasks like tidying up my email address book, chasing up the other vbCity Leaders via email to ask for the final votes for January's .NET Fella award to be cast, adding another category to my blog site (Work) and progressing a few more blog posts that are still not ready to get posted, reading up on all (well OK almost all) the RSS ... | 14. | | Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Sues To Stop Website - Captured: 10-2-2005 19:24:57 The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is quite upset that some folks are trying to set up a website called "the Jewish Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." The claim, of course, is that they have a trademark on the phrase "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" and this violates that mark. The guys behind the website wonder how anyone can have a trademark on such generic terms and also wonder how anyone would possibly confuse the two -- one being a big museum and one being a pretty focused website that hasn't even laun... SmartCast. Our "podcasting for everybody" service has been extremely popular and has begun to foster a number of add-on requests, most of which deal with bandwidth distribution. While a number of potential solutions have been publicly floated (and we've conceived a few of our own), we want to keep an eye on the evolution of enclosure usage a bit more carefully over the near term before we jump to an... Ken had contacted me via my blog , this afternoon, and we arranged to meet at the CCC at 17:30. Helen, my wife, and myself spent a very enjoyable couple of hours chatting to Ken and I hope he enjoyed it just as much :) Ken & myself had the Chilli crab which, as always, was excellent and Helen had Nachos which she enjoyed. SANTA CLARA, Calif. - December 1, 2004 - According to a new survey on consumer shopping patterns this holiday season released today by Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW), 91 percent of American consumers will walk out of a store and shop elsewhere if they cannot find the particular gift they want. | 22. | | The Quest for Ethiopian - Captured: 16-2-2005 0:42:10
One of my more eccentric hobbies
is that I seek out Ethiopian restaurants in all the cities I visit. Of course I don’t
always have time, especially when doing user group presentations because the one evening
I’m in a city is the evening I’m speaking. But for cities where I am speaking at a
conference or working at a client I usually have at least one evening free to explore
the city.
Why Ethiopian you ask? A couple
reasons.

Here is an excerpt -- but go check it out -- it is good to find other souls in this world who find deep meaning in Christ's love for the poor. We are the only nation that can't a national voice to speak out against poverty even in our own country, let alone Africa or Asia.

Oh what a beautiful city
Twelve gates to the city, hallelujah.
Christo's Gates have come to New York City's Central Park. It is truly an experience to walk through them, around them, see them flapping in the wind, and see them like a silent line of fire curving through the sketched trees of winter.
